Senior R&D Specialist (In vivo Biology)

An exciting opportunity is available to join a growing, dynamic, and efficient in vivo team.  In vivo biology team contributes towards advancing projects related to development of new therapies based on antibodies and aptamers.

As an integral team member, you will be involved in preclinical development of novel molecules for anticancer immunotherapy, as well as medical devices to be used in extracorporeal therapies of inflammatory-related disorders.

In this role, you will work with a creative and an efficient team responsible for in vivo and NHP translational studies in all projects.

This position requires technical skills combined with a solid scientific knowledge, as well as teamwork attitude.

You will:

  • Contribute towards developing molecules from early-stage discovery to lead candidate nomination;
  • Conceptualize experimentation around drug candidate development spanning PK, PD, and toxicological assessment in relevant animal models;
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute the assays e.g., Taqman assay, Biomarker selections, IHC and flow cytometry-based assays for advancing lead molecules;
  • Work closely with protein, antibody, and cell biology group to ensure quantity, quality and deliverables are met;
  • Plan and implement data collection and analysis in support of assay protocol;
  • Mentoring of the day-to-day activities of colleagues specifically engaged in the carrying out of research protocol in accordance with specified program objectives;
  • Monitor the progress of research activities; developing and maintaining records;
  • Take part in Project Team meetings.
  • Prepare regular periodic and ad hoc reports;
  • Report to the supervisor on time.

Thus, an ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

Ph.D. degree in Cancer, Immunology, Infection Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or similar discipline.

Work Experience:
At least two years of experience in designing and executing in vivo experiments in a laboratory either as a post-doctoral fellow, or equivalent industrial experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Independent experience in conceptualizing, designing, and executing in vivo experiments;
  • Experience of working with rodent organs;
  • Experience of working with IHC, IF, qRT-PCR, western blots, and Flow cytometry analysis;
  • Ability to work in multiple projects and delivering high-quality results within defined timelines;
  • You are organized and accurate and have meticulous reporting skill;
  • You have proven the ability to work with external partners and CROs;
  • Team player and individual contributor with strong analytical thinking;
  • Particularly good interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and communicative;
  • Fluent English, spoken, and written.

Bonus Skills:
Although not essential, the following added skills would be of great benefit

  • Prior experience and expertise of working with rodents and/or humanized mice models;
  • Proven track-record based on publications in high-impact journals as a lead or co-author;
  • Past work experience in an international research environment;
  • Translational knowledge in drug development and application of biologics for treatment of diseases;
  • Fundamental knowledge about structural aspects of antibodies and proteins and their biological functions;
  • Working experience in a BSL2 environment;
  • FELASA or equivalent certification to carry out animal experiments is desirable.
