We offer a position in the antibody discovery group at Pure Biologics. 

In the group we use and develop state of the art technologies to generate new antibodies. We operate as a highly collaborative and goal-oriented unit. The group currently consists of 12 members divided into small operating teams. As a member of us, you will join the ongoing projects in the fields of immuno-oncology and therapeutic apheresis. You will become a part of new project teams and you will contribute to shaping the future of whole R&D department as well. 

As a scientist in our team you will be proposing and performing experiments required to progress the projects.

Your responsibilities:

  • work on the discovery of new antibodies using phage display technology;
  • analyse sequences of the identified hits with bioinformatic tools (sequencing quality evaluation, multi-sequence alignments, analysis of NGS, Illumina&PacBio data);
  • develop and validate new assays to extend the Pure Biologics technology platform;
  • run assays to support the antibody discovery and early validation programs at Pure Biologics; ELISA, cell-based binding assays, flow cytometry, plate-based functional assays;
  • analyse your own data and keep detailed record of all scientific experiments in electronic lab-book (in English);
  • regularly communicate your experimental progress to the coordinator of your research team and to the co-operating teams during meetings;
  • manage multiple tasks with overlapping deadlines simultaneously;
  • maintain databanks and storage of samples and reagents, including the collection of antibodies;
  • participate in laboratory- and instruments upkeeping.

Your profile:

  • MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or equivalent;
  • at least 4 years of work experience in a wet lab after MSc graduation;
  • hands-on experience with generation of antibodies and display technology is highly appreciated;
  • experience with end-point plate-based cellular and/or protein-binding assays is required;
  • basic knowledge and experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and with mammalian cell culture is required;
  • experience with basic assays in flow cytometry such as antigen staining, viability evaluation;
  • hands-on experience in NGS, Illumina, and PacBio is very valued;
  • collaborative, self-motivated, team-oriented individual;
  • ability to work in a collaborative, team environment where accuracy is essential;
  • excellent communication skills, presenting ideas and results, problem solving and supporting others in their work;
  • comfortable documenting and communicating research results in English.
